I’m currently 23 weeks pregnant and recently made the switch to this jacket system a couple months ago— and I’m so glad I did. As the weather turned colder and my old puffer stopped zipping around week 15, this combo has quickly become my go-to outerwear. I have both the puffer and the shell, and they’re incredibly versatile worn separately or together.
Perfect Timing for Peak Season
With Mid-Atlantic winter here in full force, I wanted something that would grow with me and hold up in both cold and wet conditions. The EverCrest system checks every box. It’s clear this was designed with real pregnancy transitions in mind — and it shows in the thoughtful features like built-in expansion zippers, layering flexibility, and weather protection. I’ll be wearing this all season.
How I Use It Now (and How I Plan to Later)
Right now, I’m mostly wearing the puffer alone, alternating between vest mode and jacket mode, depending on the day. Because I sized up, I haven’t needed to unzip the side panels yet — but I’m already seeing how useful that feature will be as my bump grows deeper into third trimester. Knowing I can just expand the jacket rather than replace it again is a huge win.
On rainy days, I add the shell layer on top, and the sizing works perfectly. The shell slides over the puffer without bunching, and the adjustable hood actually keeps the rain off my hair and face — not always a given with maternity outerwear. The breathable waterproof fabric makes it feel more like true technical gear than just "cute maternity wear."
Why It’s Worth It
This system is a game-changer for anyone trying to stay warm and dry throughout pregnancy without constantly buying new sizes. It’s warm, functional, and genuinely adaptable. I plan to rely on it all winter — and when baby arrives, I’m looking forward to using the zip-in expansion for babywearing too.
If you’re on the fence: don’t wait. I wish I had this sooner, but I’m grateful to have it now, right when I need it most.
Excellent versatility, fit, and design. If you are after a coat for the outdoors, an outdoor job, or just don't want to feel like the only maternity coats available belong in some city-scape fashion show and want one that actually qualifies as gear, not just a cutesy accessory (that said, this coat is very nicely cut and looks classic!), buy this coat!
Fit is great, love the weather resistance. Wish the shell was just a little heavier weight, but overall I'm very happy with the purchase!
I have worn the ever crest zip up twice in the last 14 days. I live in the high desert area of California where the winds get pretty rough. Its been so good having this jacket. I am 7 months pregnant. I got a size 2-4 i believe.
I am very impressed with the quality and adaptability of the shell jacket!
My first order was for the wrong size, but customer service very quickly and painlessly helped me exchange it for the right one. I can't wait to try babywearing with it to test the front zippers.
Honestly, just having a nice outdoor option for maternity clothes is amazing. Maternity outerwear is hard to find and I am glad to support this small business!
